BAT YAM, ISRAEL (HN) - The daughter of the Rav
in Kiryat Bobov in Bat Yam died in a tragic car accident last
week while returning from a family celebration in Miron.
The family was visiting Miron to celebrate their
three year old son's "upsheren" (inauguration to the Jewish
educational system) at the tomb of Reb Shimon Bar Yochei, as
customary in Israel. For their way back they took a taxi, who
reportedly had been summoned for reckless driving and penalized
prior to this incident. He took the curves at the hill too
fast. and lost control of the vehicle. The Rabbi's 10 year
old daughter was hurled out of the car during impact and died
immediately.
Rabbi Meizlish is the Rav in Kiryat Bobov in
Bat Yam. He leads the Bobov community there and is very cherished
in his close-knit community there and abroad. He is the son-in-law
of the previous Bobov Rebbe Reb Shlomo Halberstam who lead
the Bobov sect after WWII from his headquarters in Borough
Park, Brooklyn and passed away just last year in Brooklyn,
NY. |
