The Aaron Teitelbaum-Leibish Eichenshtein Tenayim in KJ Kiryat Joel (HN) - The Kiryat Joel rav, Aaron
Teitelbaum, son of the Satmar Rebbe, celebrated on Saturday
night the Tenayim (pre-nuptial agreement signing ceremony)
of his son who was engaged to the daughter of Leibish Eichenshtein,
son of The Kiviashd'e Rebbe.
The event was spontaneous; no one knew before
hand that it will take place and there were no posters or other
form of notice distributed to community members in advance.
Yet, a huge crowd of thousands of Aaron's supporters from the
Kiryat Joel town and elsewhere showed up to this joyous occasion.
Ironically, while the Satmar Rebbe went all the
way to Kiryat Joel to attend the Tenayim made by his Gabbe,
(assistant) Moshe, in Monroe just days earlier (on Thursday
night), he did not attend the Tenayim celebration of his very
own son.
According to analysts, Moshe Gabbe was preoccupied
with his own "simche" (celebration) on Thursday, thereby allowing
Aaron to slip through to see his father, the Satmar Rebbe while
he was in Monroe to attend Moshe Gabbe's Tenayim. The Rebbe
told him on that occasion "die host doch eibig gebrengt gitteh
besiros" (You have, indeed, always brought good news) in stark
contrast to the harsh criticism he threw towards him just weeks
earlier when the Rebbe called Aaron "Rushe ben Rushe". Yet,
Moshe Gabbe and his people managed to keep a watchful eye on
the Rebbe so he does not attend his son's simche in Monroe
on Saturday night.
